Each year, Planetary Health, Inc., a non-profit macrobiotic educational organization, celebrates the achievements of extraordinary individuals with their Michio Kushi Peace Prize Awards.
This year, the Planetary Health team honored Holistic Holiday at Sea founder, Sandy Pukel, who accepted the award during the Online Macrobiotic Summer Conference in July. Planetary Health Inc. founder, Alex Jack, recognized Sandy for his dedication to promoting health, wellness, and peace through macrobiotic principles.Sandy won the Michio Kushi Peace Prize alongside another individual, Christina Pirello, an esteemed macrobiotic educator and Emmy-Award-winning host of Christina Cooks! About Michio Kushi
Michio Kushi (久司 道夫, Kushi Michio) (May 17, 1926 – December 28, 2014) was a prominent Japanese educator who championed modern macrobiotics and introduced the philosophy to Americans in the 1950s. He lectured at conferences and seminars around the world, presenting on philosophy, spiritual development, health, food, diseases, and other important topics.
